• 04.15.06.release of RAVI  PADMANABHA " SOLO @ 226 SERIES" Chang and Motoko  Shimuzi started the 226 series to present an outlet for creative music. They have revived the long gone era of  “Loft Sessions” New York was famous for.  On 8/13/2005 Ravi Padmanabha performed a 30-minute solo piece which was followed by a set from Ed, Motoko, andJeff  Shurdut.  Later in the evening the quartet piece was released on NOLABELS called "21st Century Folk Music Vol.3".

• 03.03.06 |Interventions #22: Jeffrey Lependorf, Brian Moran, Matt Hannafin, Ravi Padmanabha - Four Ideas of Stillness: The second live release from Brooklyn's Avant Yard series, an outdoor performance event in which improvisers are encouraged to work with the ambient sounds of the neighborhood: birds, sirens, children's voices, overflying planes, etc. For this performance, the duo Shunyata (Brian Moran, electronics; Matt Hannafin, percussion) were joined by shakuhachi player Jeffrey Lependorf and percussionist Ravi Padmanabha for a set that explored the concept of stillness, with each musician approaching the idea from his own perspective. "The Great Way has no gate. Clear water has no taste. The tongue has no bone. In complete stillness, a stone girl is dancing." -- Seung Sahn. Recorded 9-11-05.
